The Tilford Family

The Tilford Family
The Tilfords 2023

Welcome!

I am Nicole and I am the wife to the most incredible man; Eric. We live in East Tennessee with our five children; Tristan, Lily, Nico, Harlan and Nolan. Together, we are The Tilfords! Grandpa Steve lives with us too!

Growing weary of social media, we decided to give our our blog another try. So, we fired this bad-boy up once again in hopes of staying in better contact with our family and friends who are scattered all over the United States and Australia.

In our blog, you will hear about our children, our animals, details about our life and anything that goes on in our beautifully messy world. We hope you enjoy hearing about our life and come back for more…. Thanks for stopping by!

UPDATE

Sorry it has been so long since I have posted anything.
Eric and I have been enjoying some exciting times and have not made time to do anything internet related, especially updating the blog.
Well, for those who do not know, we are in the process of adopting 3 children.  It has been so much fun, so exciting and so much work.
With this process, we have a lot of irons in the fire (so to speak).
We have the kids in our home (their new home) now and are figuring it all out.  We have had them now permanently for 3 weeks.  We consider ourselves extremely lucky to have been blessed with these 3 children and love them so much already.
Our oldest is 5 years old and he is a boy, our middle child is 3 years old and she is a girl and our youngest is 1 year old and he is a boy.
We have already had the pleasure of experiencing so many firsts with all of them including; Easter, first words, first steps, eating in a restaurant, new foods, haircuts, dressing "fancy" and so many more things.  It has truly been so exciting and such a wonderful experience.   There is definitely a learning curve and I am not going to lie and say it is wonderful 100% of the time because it is not but overall, it is great.
When we met the children for the first time, it was so surreal.  It was absolutely incredible and I think both Eric and I could not believe it was finally happening.  The process to get to that point was tiring, trying, invasive, and emotional so when we were picked as a match for these children, we were beyond happy and excited.
We met them on a Thursday afternoon and ended up having all 3 of them for the whole weekend and again the following weekend.  They moved in 3 days later and both Eric and I had to take time off work for bonding.  I will now be a stay-at-home Mom starting in May and am so thrilled to be able to have this opportunity.
The oldest 2 children started calling Eric Daddy and me Mommy immediately because we were lucky enough to have a caring woman in the home they were in and she went over the album with them and explained everything that was going to be happening and who we were and really prepared them as much as possible before meeting us.  The kids even went over the album us when we first met them and showed us their dogs (our dogs) and their Grammy (my mom), etc.
My Mom is already the best Grammy to them and they adore both her and my Grandma, their Great Grandma.  They have met most of their cousins and absolutely love them along with Aunties, Uncles, Family Friends, etc.  They know they still have more family to meet and are looking forward to it!  Eric and I made them a photo album prior to our meeting them and they familiarized themselves with our faces, our animals, our house and all of their Family members so they know who people are when they meet them for the first time.
Unfortunately, we will not be able to post any photos or videos of the kiddos at this time; however, I will be starting to update with posts again and there will be photos and videos of other things.  I have several posts ready to go…
Anyway, that is the update for now so stay tuned because there will be more posts to come!
Thank you for your patience.
